溫柔的芝加哥
有時候我會懷疑，我所認識的芝加哥是不是一種錯覺，
天空藍得像密西根湖一樣，陽光一點都不毒偶而還有微風輕撫。
湖邊沙灘上躺滿皮膚太白的白人準備漂黑，
還有一座座佇立的沙灘排球網與玩排球的比基尼，
湖上停滿了私人遊艇，以及一塊塊非會員請勿進入的標語，
誰人家的黑狗白狗黃狗灰狗找到一處淺淺的水深追逐。
騎著單車在路上，金髮甜姊兒跟我揮手打招呼整個酥麻，
陽光帥哥肌肉男脫起上衣振動著汗水狂滴，
偶而有震耳欲聾的跑車呼嘯而過，可是我不會驚嚇。
在Loop區，星期五的傍晚，迷人的香水在街道上遊走，
循著香水可以尋找數以百計高挑低胸露背的天使，
義大利菜、墨西哥菜、印度菜、法國菜、亞洲菜瀰漫整個街道，
今晚，你要吃哪一道？

享受
非假日的時間，芝加哥著名的Michigan Ave.總是會有一群觀光客瘋狂的購買、聊天與吃吃吃，芝加哥著名的Cubs的老球場的擁擠人潮，也常常讓人搞不懂今天究竟是星期幾。
我們來來去去的從事著相仿的活動，享受同樣的興奮與快感，看著對方提著跟我同樣商店的紙袋，我會心一笑。看著支持的球隊勝勝勝，我們以彼此的衣服歌曲銘記，在老得不能再老的地鐵站裡大聲歌唱。
我們在全美第三大城市裡錯身而過，彼此感覺好近好近，我好奇你今天為什麼在這兒，我好奇你開著Ferrari、Lamborghini、Porsche為什麼旁邊還能坐一個金髮辣妹，我好奇隔壁鄰居的比基尼美女是不是那個大老闆的情婦，我想伸出思緒很遠很遠，卻總搆不著另一頭，我觸及到我們的會心一笑卻馬上滑落分離。
在湖邊，我想再遇見鴨子將頭埋入海裡搖著屁股補抓食物的可愛模樣，潮水卻將海邊岩岸掩蓋，推著鴨子遠遠的往海上飄離。

這是一本0.45美金的書，但是運費要3.99美金Orz。雖然是1993年的書，但是還滿經典的，我自己覺得可以跟Howard同年的Virtual Community媲美。這是二手書喔，但是整本書跟新的一樣，撿到便宜貨真開心.....以下所有資料包含圖片盜至Amazon。

Computers have dramatically altered life in the late twentieth century. Today we can draw on worldwide computer links, speeding up communications by radio, newspapers, and television. And just around the corner lurks full-blown virtual reality, in which we will be able to immerse ourselves in a computer simulation not only of the actual physical world, but of any imagined world. As we begin to move in and out of a computer-generated world, Michael Heim asks, how will the way we perceive our world change?
In The Metaphysics of Virtual Reality, Heim considers this and other philosophical issues of the Information Age. With an eye for the dark as well as the bright side of computer technology, he explores the logical and historical origins of our computer-generated world and speculates about the future direction of our computerized lives.
